plebeian

/pləˈbēən/
noun

  1. (in ancient Rome) the general body of free Roman citizens who were not patricians.

  2. a commoner.

I am one commoner in this country and society, but I am not the only one.

I’m not the only one that wants to love and support their friends and family, and be loved and supported by their friends and family.

I’m not the only one that wants to be heard by their politicians, protected by their law enforcement, and respected by their government.

I’m not the only that wants to be satisfied emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

Opportunity and civility should not be afforded according to the one’s skin color, gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, or country of origin, and I’m not the only one who has been denied this because of one of these reasons.

In her book, all about love, bell hooks writes:

“Living consciously means we think critically about ourselves and the world we live in. We dare to ask ourselves the basic questions who, what, when, where, and why. Answering these questions usually provides us with a level of awareness that enlightens.”
